Launch policy draft

Copyright Policy

A preliminary reporting path for the curated MVP; this page does not claim DMCA safe-harbor status.

Founder/legal review required. This draft reflects the live MVP as of August 9, 2026. It is operational product documentation, not legal advice.

Respect for rights

OnTap expects all first-party and future creator-submitted code, text, media, and branding to be used with authorization. Content that infringes another party’s rights may be removed.

Preliminary reports

You can privately flag a Tool using the Report a Tool form and choose “Copyright.” That anonymous form helps OnTap preserve and triage the issue, but it is not a complete statutory notice and cannot receive a response.

Formal notices

A formal copyright notice ordinarily needs to identify the protected work, the allegedly infringing material and its location, the reporting party’s contact information, good-faith and accuracy statements, and a physical or electronic signature. Counter-notice procedures must also be defined before creator content is opened broadly.

External operational requirement

Not yet completed: the operator must decide the legal entity, public notice address, designated-agent contact, and whether to register and maintain a designated agent with the U.S. Copyright Office. A webpage alone does not establish Section 512 safe-harbor eligibility.

Repeat infringement

A documented repeat-infringer policy, evidence-preservation process, counter-notice workflow, and restoration procedure are required before unrestricted creator publishing.

Questions about this policy can be submitted through the contact form.
